So… you’re pumped, you have your short term rental booked, a schedule of shows and parties at the ready, but there’s one thing your are missing… A MUST EAT LIST!

Austin is a foodies paradise and with these local treasures no itinerary is complete without them! This list could literally stretch very long, but we narrowed it down to the top 15 so here it is…

This local dive has the BEST margarita’s and chili in the lone star state! You will not remorse your decision to eat here, unless you have to use the facilities… Their restrooms do have shower curtain dividers, but that is part of the experience. You want to eat good like the locals, go here.

Another hidden gem with great fresh, local fare. Perfect for those who appreciate vegetarian and vegan options. There are also meat options, so this will delight everyone in your companies palette.

A usual hotspot at night with DJ’s and special events, The Belmont offers Sunday brunch at 10:00AM that is to die for! Yes, it is a buffet, but, no it is not your average buffet. Then you top that off with $1 mimosa’s, patio seating and a DJ and you have the perfect recovery brunch!

Truly is “food from the heart”. Get away from the madness, without having to venture out of downtown with this tranquil and equally amazing restaurant. Everything is delicious, funny to say but oh so honest. Another great perk, this place is open till 3:00AM. What a way to wind down, or spice up!

Who doesn’t like pizza? Especially great pizza! Home Slice is a neighborhood and beyond favorite, with not only great pizza, but great italian sandwiches also. A low-key SOCO atmosphere where you can get a whole pie or by the slice. If and it is probable that Home Slice Pizza is packed, there is More Home Slice right next door, with the same addictive pizza!

This one and a few other are on the pricey side, but if you want to go fancy, do so here! Their food is “modern mexican” and it will blow your socks off. The ambiance is high-end and modern, just like everything you put in your mouth. Great drinks as also a crowd pleaser.

Think impossibly tender… think east Austin food truck and come to La Barbecue! Ribs, Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Turkey Breast oh my. They open at 11:00Am and stay open until they are sold out, so get here early.

You have probably heard of an “artisan grilled cheese” before and thought ok that is better than I usually make mine… well times that experience by 100 and you come close to a Burro Cheese Sandwich.

What To Do While You’re In Austin For F1

Formula 1 racing events are held all over the world and while you take in the race, why not experience the culture that makes that venue unique? In matters of uniqueness, Austin is not one to disappoint. There is a lot of great natural beauty in and around Austin.

The great Hill Country of the state can be soaked in a short drive East on Hwy 71. Lake Travis is also out on 71 East and the drive is breathtaking.

Stay closer to the races with a trip to Mt. Bonnel where you can get spectacular views of the city at the highest peak in Austin at 775 feet. A short fairly easy hike is all it takes to enjoy.

Zilker Park is a famous and great place to get away without actually being away. The park is located in Downtown and is host to festivals throughout the year, but is even more notoriously known for its Barton Spring Public Pool, fed by the natural spring and is a content refreshing temperature of around 70 degrees!

Come explore all the colors and shapes at the Zilker Botanical Garden during this time of seasonal change! Create a sun print with nature objects and go on a color hunt with your very own color wheel and map.
